James Kuo earned a PhD from the University of Southern California and is currently an assistant professor at the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences. He is devoted to the development of green technology and related research on fuel cell energy due to current depletion, environmental pollution, and other factors. In 2008, he established the SOLOMON Fuel Cell Vehicle Team, a major stride in achieving zero-carbon living. This vehicle team created the new record for two straight years in energy-efficient vehicle competition in Taiwan, and is still the current record-holder of the nation. With this research and development technique as the foundation, the team gave birth to the first urban concept car in 2010, the ‘LOHAS Pixie,’ which allowed the integration of green technology in daily life. Additionally, with the support of the Keep Walking Dream Fund, he led the SOLOMON Vehicle Team to participate in the Shell Eco-marathon contest, the first Taiwanese team involved in 26 years. As the winners of the People’s Choice Award and second place winners of the urban concept category, he successfully demonstrated not only the ability of green energy, but also the technology of Taiwan while also drawing international attention.
